The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the main group to begin their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at one table would be impossible.
This explains, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for players who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where diplomatic options are rare.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear mismatched, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose death started the story’s plot—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering the secret base, attacking Thimble, and stealing all the powerful objects to auction.
The antagonist then settled his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, beyond the city, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each member has a individual motive to leave the city the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty location.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to execute the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in the influential clan could help the group reach places they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character pledged a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally dangerous:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The target is marked for death by House Halovar.
This leaves them few options but to journey toward the remote area in search of the antagonist.
